The first thing to note is that you can wear or use your jewelry how it works best for you. There are no rules. The information below is provided as suggestions and ideas, but again, do what works for you!
Jewelry
You can simply wear your jewelry as a piece of jewelry! Coordinate with your outfit, or not!
Interact with Healing Energy
I am a big believer that wearing crystals are a great way to interact with their healing energies, which is one of the reasons I like making jewelry with crystals. Wear your crystals to absorb their energy throughout the day. It is much more comfortable than stuffing stones in your bra!
Wear or hold your piece while meditating or any time of day to focus on a particular healing benefit or on your intention.
Use as an Anchor
Use your piece as an anchor - look at or touch your piece as a reminder of your intention throughout the day (i.e. remaining calm, feeling confident, speaking your truth, etc.)
Affirmations
Use it for mantras or affirmations.
Mala necklaces and bracelets are traditionally used to recite mantras or prayers, and were developed as a tool to recite a mantra 108 (or a variation thereof) times without having to simultaneously count the repetitions. While they certainly are or can be used for that, I find a more modern, accessible approach is to use your piece to repeat a positive affirmation. This can be something to help yourself in the moment (like "I am safe" or "I am confident"), or something that you want to achieve.
Anxiety Relief
Similar to the explanation on affirmations above, use your beads to repeat a calming affirmation, such as "I am safe" until you have calmed down. The nervous system responds to the repetition of a soothing thought.
This can be used when alone, or can be a great way to calm anxiety in public places without drawing attention to yourself, as you can lightly finger the beads, move them around your wrist as you count, or hold them in your hand.
In addition, choosing specific gemstones with calming properties can also amplify these effects because you will have both your own mental repetition plus the gemstone's vibration to assist you.
Highly Sensitive People (HSPs) and Empaths
HSPs and empaths can use any of the above techniques to help feel empowered or soothe any feelings of overwhelm. In addition, choosing specific stones for blocking, neutralizing, balancing, or protecting from unwanted outside energy may be helpful.
